SWEAT from hard working shearers and fleeces from well grown sheep were flying at the Compagnoni family's annual shearing at Carinya, Mitchell.
More than 3800 Terrick-blood wethers and ewes were shorn, which run on buffel and Mitchell grass country protected by an exclusion fence.
The 110 bales of bright, low vegetable matter content, 20 micron Carinya wool produced from the shearing will be sold at a future Elders wool sale.
Don Compagnoni said Merinos remained a mainstay of Carinya, despite the Queensland-wide contraction of the wool industry.
"We're fortunate there are some very experienced shearers and shed staff we can draw on to get the job done," Mr Compagnoni said.
"Let's hope we keep seeing people sticking with the industry, because their skills are certainly needed."
