Landholders wanting to safeguard their operation in the event of bushfires will no doubt be keeping a watchful eye on the firefighting units on the market.
Silvan has launched a 1100 litre firefighting unit, which can also be used for dust suppression and to water large areas.
The sled mounted firefighting unit comes with a Davey pump which has a maximum output of 425L a minute at 80psi powered by a Honda GX160, 4 kilowatt (5.5 horsepower) pull-start engine and hose reel.
Other features include a large capacity UV stabilised polytuff tank with calibrated sight lines and an internal baffle to reduce surge when travelling.
