HUNDREDS of cattle industry people have converged on Melbourne this week for the 2022 Australian Wagyu Association conference.
From how the global beef market place is shaping up post-COVID to genetic selection for feed efficiency, the event has a strong line-up of presenters from across the country and globe.
Speakers today include Hughes Pastoral and Georgina Pastoral's Peter Hughes, Dairy Australia's managing director David Nation, Stanbroke Beef's Mark Harris, world renowned animal scientist Dr Frank Mitloehner for the University of California Davis and Carbon Farmers of Australia's Louisa Kiely.
The Elite Wagyu Sale, where buyers can pick up lots with multiple EBVs in the top five per cent of the breed, happens tonight - live and streamed online.
And the gala dinner, complete with the announcement of the Wagyu Branded Beef winners, happens tomorrow night.
