Following on from their success at the Hay Sheep Show and the ABBA Show in Bendigo, Australian Food and Agriculture Company's Poll Boonoke Stud exhibited the Elders Riverina Merino Ram of the Year at the 2015 Elders Riverina Sheep Expo.
Described by the judge Warick Kopp, Towalba Merino Stud, Peak Hill as a ram with "good make and shape and outstanding for his type", he was judged ahead of entries from Willandra who filled the second and third places.
Performance Ram of the Year was won by a White Suffolk paraded by John Jamieson, Wattle Park, Finley which had already been judged Champion ram in the class paraded for the White Suffolk Feature Breed.
Judge Graham Wilson, Kismet, Howlong said the two-tooth ram was "the right type of ram for today's industry".
Ian Gray, Graythorn Poll Dorset, Bunnaloo won the Prime ewe class with his Poll Dorset ewe, and Ross McGaughie, Terrick West, Prairie paraded the Riverina Merino ewe of the year.
