A NEAR perfect clearance at the Frost family’s Hillden Poll Dorset ram sale reached a top of $3800 for stud rams and $1900 for flock rams at Crookwell on Friday.
Local return buyers and a few new faces purchased 147 of the 150 rams offered at auction, with the remaining three selling minutes after the final fall of the gavel.
Achieving an overall average of $1067, the flock rams averaged $1001, while the 10 stud rams offered and sold averaged $1980.
Taking home the $3800 top-priced stud ram to Victoria was Rick and Amanda Crisp, Livingstone Poll Dorset stud, Omeo.
Volume buyer and purchaser of the top-priced flock ram was Virginia McCallum, “Hillcrest”, Bannister, who paid to $1900 and averaged $1766 for six.
