COONALEE White Suffolk and Poll Dorset studs hit a $900 high twice at their recent annual ram sale at Coonalpyn.
Both top lots were White Suffolks and went to long-time buyer Craig Rowsell, Keith.
Mr Rowsell said they weighed 120 kilograms and 127kg and were good examples of what he was looking for in his prime lamb operation.
"They were the best two, and you've always got to buy the best," he said.
"They had nice front shoulders without being too wide, and length, which is good for lambs."
Coonalee principals Anne-Maree and Lyal Zanker said they were happy with the support of their regular loyal buyers, but were disappointed that there were not more buyers at the sale.
Mr Zanker said the rams had presented nicely from the paddock, giving a good commercial perspective.
He said the stud's goal was to breed rams with good size and length and meat where it needed to be, in order for their clients to produce meaty lambs.
