IN what is thought to be the first Hereford and Poll Hereford joint judging at a Royal Show, the two breeds shared in the broadribbon at Melbourne yesterday.
Junior, grand and supreme exhibit bull EDR Toranmoor Gold had to take a boat to get there, coming from EDR Herefords and Denstone Investments in Tasmania.
Judge Greg Fuller said he was going to become a very complete sire, with both power and performance.
The 922 kilogram bull had a 120 square centimetre eye muscle area and will go on to be offered at the Wodonga Hereford National show and sale in 2013.

Kanimbla Partnerships continued their dominance at Melbourne with a fifth successive most successful exhibitor award - having only started showing at Melbourne five years ago.
They also took home a grand champion broadribbon for the fifth year in a row, exhibiting the junior and grand champion heifer.
Kanimbla Centrefold G58 was 12-months-old and Mr Fuller commented on her tremendous femininity and leg extension.
The Kanimbla team said winning two of the group awards - best three head of any age and best two bulls - was icing on the cake.
Andtravern Herefords' Andtravern Freight Train won the senior champion bull award, while senior champion cow went to Grassy Mountain Country Girl, exhibited by G&H Neilson.
