THE historic Leslie Dam property Rookwood is on the market.
Located 20km south west of Warwick, the 2299-hectare (5690 acres) property is in 21 freehold titles and has a licence to occupy the flood reserve on the dam.
Rookwood is being offered by Jan Rawlins. It being sold through an expressions of interest process which closes on April 15.
Marketing agent Andrew Williams, Elders, said water security was a major attraction of the property.
“There are numerous feeder creeks interspersed throughout the property along with a recently completed reticulated watering system of tanks and troughs,” Mr Williams said.
“With spectacular views across the waters of Leslie Dam, Rookwood offers the ultimate in rural lifestyles with proximity to regional centres, scale and diversity for livestock production and past history of fodder cropping.”
Improvements include the original homestead which is set in established gardens, a stable complex with 10 horse boxes, machinery sheds, hay shed, shearing shed, original school house, timber and steel cattle yards. A second homestead circa 1980 is also set in established gardens.
Rookwood’s current carrying capacity could be increased with further pasture development.
