The proceedings in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills next Thursday will be live streamed and available to view through the MLA website - www.mla.com.au/agm2016 – allowing producers who are unable to attend to hear from MLA and industry representatives about the latest marketing and research and development priorities and what the future holds.
The theme for this year’s program is “Towards 2020 and beyond – Fostering prosperity in the red meat industry” and it will have a specific focus on the future, as well as the current state of the red meat and livestock industry and the role MLA is playing in building producer profitability, sustainability and global competitiveness.
As well as the formal AGM proceedings, the day’s program features a number of forums which will provide an opportunity to hear from senior industry and MLA leaders and will feature an open question and answer component.
The Red Meat Advisory Council (RMAC) will host a session featuring an industry update chair Don Mackay, followed by a moderated panel session for an engaging discussion on industry issues. The second session will include key updates from MLA senior leaders followed by an open question and answer session.
The forums will be followed by the AGM which will include MLA Chair Dr Michele Allan reporting on the company’s performance and governance for the last year. Managing Director Richard Norton will present the organisation’s vision for the industry to 2020 and beyond.
Members are invited to submit questions on notice to MLA at any time up to 3.30pm on 8 November, 2016. To submit questions on notice please email questions@mla.com.au.
MLA members who cannot attend the AGM can vote by proxy or attorney. To do so, return your completed proxy via post or online at www.computershare.com.au/mlavoting by 3pm (SA time) on 8 November, 2016.
