There were 388 head of cattle sold at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. A good line up of cattle saw the market dearer for feeders, weaners, bulls and cows. Veal sold to slightly easier rates.
John Kent, Samsonvale, sold a line of Brangus steers for $1280. Robert Archibald, Caboolture, sold Droughtmaster heifers for $1190. Haranel Pasture Pty Ltd, Mount Mee, sold lines of Droughtmaster steers for $870-$890. Paul Stephenson, Delaneys Creek, sold Red Angus weaner steers for $800.
Robyn Thomas, Laceys Creek, sold a line of Brangus steers, 20-24 months, for $1170 and light feeder steers for $880. Tim Evans, Witta, sold Droughtmaster heifers for $840-$870. Leanne Milburn, Landsborough, sold mixed breed cows for $1270-$1400.
Wagner Rural, Mt Kilcoy, sold yearling bulls for $905. John McKellar, Samford, sold Murray Grey cows for $1120 and Wagyu steers for $1400. Troy Hennessey, Mount Mee, sold Charolais heifers for $830. Vivienne Bochow, Conondale, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1880.
Andrew Little, Stanmore, sold a Droughtmaster bull for $1560. Vern and Kim Duncan, Mt Mee, sold Droughtmaster steers for $760 and heifers for $710. The Stanton family, Neurum, sold quality Charbray calves, with steers making $530 and heifers $520.
