There were 344 head of cattle sold at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. The market remained firm, with quality cattle continuing to sell to solid rates.
Robert Archibald, Caboolture, sold a Santa heifer for $1550 and a young bull for $1300. Lionel Richards, Kilcoy, sold Belmont Red cows for $1290-$1580. Gerry Carseldine, Wamuran, sold Brangus heifers for $730 and a line of Droughtmaster heifers for $470.
Tim Simpson, Bald Knob, sold Droughtmaster cross weaner steers for $700 and heifers for $500. Ivan Rohlf, Moorina, sold Santa heifers for $720-$930 and heifer calves for $495. Leanne Paulus, Mt Delaney, sold Charbray weaner steers for $720. Katrina Kunde, Samsonvale, sold Murray Grey yearling steers for $800.
Nevil Green, Villeneuve, sold Euro/Droughtmaster cross calves, with steers making $640 and heifers $565. Wayne Stanton, Neurum, sold five-month-old Charbray steers for $580. Len Kettleton, Beachmere, sold Santa cross vealer heifers for $425.
