The supply of stock at Warwick increased by 293 head to 940 on Tuesday. Export buyer attendance was not as good as the previous week, however some additional feed and trade buyers were active in the young cattle section.
The market was reported to be a few cents dearer across most classes, with stronger support from restockers, feeder operators, and the trade plus export processors.
Vealer heifers sold to local butchers at a top of 397.2c, and a few to feed averaged 348c/kg. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 373c and made to 406c/kg.
Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 389c, with a fair sample averaging from 339c to 350c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to an isolated 412.2c to average 350c, and a handful to the trade made to 392c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background made to 348c to average 322c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 327c/kg. Heavy weights to feed averaged 319c, and a small sample to processors made to 322c/kg.
Medium weight cows to restockers averaged 224c and made to 239c/kg. Medium weights to processors averaged 242c, with sales to 269c/kg. A fair sample of heavy cows made to 284.2c, to average 255c/kg.
