A MAN accused of grooming a 15-year-old girl and sending her sexually explicit images has been refused bail in Newcastle Bail Court on Saturday. Detectives say they launched an investigation on Thursday after reports the girl was being sexually groomed by the man, 45, who police said "was known to her". They arrested the man at a home in Windale about 7.20pm on Friday. Police seized two mobile phones at the home which they say will undergo forensic examination. The man was later charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend, grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity and using a carriage service to groom a child under 16 years for sex. The man was refused bail by police and appeared in Newcastle Bail Court on Saturday where he was again refused bail to re-appear in court on Monday.
