Agriculture Victoria is holding a webinar on September 15 to help producers prepare for the upcoming silage and hay making season.
The short presentation by Agriculture Victoria's Michele Jolliffe will covering the following topics:
- Why make silage.
- Quality and quantity targets for hay and silage.
- Targets for dry matter ranges.
- Using nitrogen to boost yields.
- Sealing bales/stacks.
There will also be an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Ms Jolliffe is a dairy extension officer from Agriculture Victoria, based at Warrnambool, Vic.
She has been working in the areas of grazing and pasture management for more than 25 years across Victoria, with a focus on dairy pastures, forage production and, in particular, silage production.
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, September 15, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
