THE complete dispersal of "Glendon Park’s" Angus female herd was conducted last Friday at the Glen Innes saleyards.
A total of 403 cows with calves were sold to average $1217 a head.
Five-year-old cows with calves topped the sale with a pen selling for $1375/hd.
Four-year-old cows with calves also had good buyer demand with the top pen selling for $1325/hd
The 325 heifers averaged $726/hd.
The sale was interfaced with AuctionsPlus, with 16 of the sale’s successful bidders being online.
Colin Say and Company agent, Nathan Purvis, Glen Innes, said having the AuctionPlus system was a huge benefit to the sale and encouraged buyers to bid higher.
Mr Purvis said buyers from as far away as Victoria purchased cattle from the sale through the AuctionPlus system and helped the sale’s clearance significantly.
“In the tough season that we’ve faced, the AuctionPlus system opened up the opportunity for cattle to go to different areas having a better season,” he said.
Local support was strong as well as some bidders travelling from surrounding districts to look at the quality line up.
Vendor, John Williamson, "Glendon Park", Glen Innes, was extremely happy with the sale’s result and said he appreciated the support of the bidders and under bidders.
