LEADING farm machinery player AGCO, more particularly its flagship Massey Ferguson brand, says its products come with “superior DNA” that will cement its position on the world stage.
AGCO’s senior VP and GM Europe, Africa, Middle East, Aust/NZ, Gary Collar (pictured), was speaking at a major product launch in Melbourne where he acknowledged the “really ‘hot’ technology” coming out of MF’s Beauvais tractor plant in France.
“Our latest products have the right features, not features just for the sake of having bells and whistles, but features that are technically advanced, providing solutions for our customers,” he said.
On the US$150m spent on the R and D at the facility in the past five years, Gary Collar said it gave the company a better chance of “getting it right” first time around.
While MF had a renowned heritage, today it was all about “leveraging that heritage” into the future.
With “the long-term building blocks in place", Gary Collar said the year-on-year development of new products was all about making the company’s farmer customers more successful.
Currently appraising all its products - from its new Brazilian tractors to new models from India – he said he was confident the company would continue to unveil a raft of new products.
“Also, I am here to tell you that we have an ongoing commitment to harvesting,” Gary Collar said.
“We have five combine (harvester) ranges, we have manufacturing facilities in Europe, North America and we are the largest maker of combines in Brazil,” he added.
“All this has not gone unnoticed (by the competition),” Gary Collar said.
