The latest offering from the Indian tractor giant, the Mahindra mForce 100P is a versatile, 73 kilowatt utility tractor.
Mr Ryan, from Wangoom, north-east of Warrnambool, Victoria bought the tractor from his local dealer in Colac.
He said he had read about the Mahindra’s power and was comfortable with the dealer having bought his last tractor there over a decade ago.
“I don't have the time for as much tractor work as I used to because I'm milking a lot more cows these days, but I will be using it for feeding out, cleaning up and I’ll sometimes put my post-rammer on and use it for general farm duties.
The mForce is fitted with a Perkins engine developing 418Nm of peak torque at 1400 rpm, and combines with a 32x32 Power Shift transmission to provide speeds from 40 kilometres an hour through to a crawl speed.
The linkage lift is claimed to manage 3110 kilograms and 1100kg from the self levelling loader that is fitted with a 4-in-1 bucket.
Mr Ryan said the Mahindra was comfortable and “seems to have plenty of torque”.
The Mahindra also offers electronic lift controls for the linkage, as well as the Turn Up & Back Up feature, which lifts rear implements automatically, making headland turn-and-reverse easy.
The tractor also features three rear remotes with a 61.3 litre per minute implement pump and a three-speed PTO.
Dealer Trevor Bant said he had sold two Mahindra mForce models already, “because we can see there’s definitely a spot for them in the market place.
“It’s an ideal size, weight, and it represents extremely good value because it will fill a broad range of applications,” he said.
“The other factor is that it's an extremely easy tractor to drive.
“A lot of people want, is a tractor that’s not unnecessarily complicated to use, is strong and reliable, and well designed, and that’s what that tractor is,” Mr Bant said.
