PRODUCTIVITY gain was the prime motivation for an innovative world first wrapped silage bale carrier.
Stephen Robertson, national sales manager for distributor Muddy River Agriculture said the Anderson Group RBM2000 Pro allowed growers to pick, carry and unload wrapped silage bales in a timely and cost effective manner.
“The carrier will save time and labour, as well as reducing field compaction,” he said.
“It will allow the bales to be removed quickly so that the field can regenerate for another cut.”
Mr Robertson said wrapped silage bales were often left in the field for several days or weeks until there was a chance to pick them up.
“Moving wrapped silage bales off the field is a time consuming task, which often requires multiple operators or equipment,” he said.
“The RBM2000 is unique, it is the only carrier on the market that can pick up wrapped silage bales that we are aware of.
“It is going to be a good cost saving for the grower.”
Mr Robertson said the carrier would be introduced in Australia next year.
“We are very excited to see what the market uptake is, we won’t know until we get one out here,” he said.
“It comes down to productivity, and how much emphasis the grower puts on the value of productivity.
“When they do the numbers, they will find there is a very good cost benefit ratio.”
